“CMYKyle” made more sense in 2000.
That’s when I snagged this URL—back when print media ruled the world, and CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) was relevant knowledge. I graduated from the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism during old-school media’s last gasp, a time when they pretended the internet didn’t exist. I even studied magazine journalism, so I basically learned how to build horse buggies right before cars took over.
After two decades slugging it out in print (mostly at The A.V. Club and The Onion), I shifted gears into development for podcasts, TV, and film. These days, I also spend a lot of time crafting copy and shaping content strategy. And if you ever want to nerd out about band names, I’m your guy.
Print may be fading, but storytelling is forever. That’s what I do, no matter the medium.
