Punk in Drublic 2019

Emerging like a sunburned, beer-soaked fan stumbling out of the festival, PUNK IN DRUBLIC is back and ready for more. The craft beer and music festival, created by NOFX leader and Fat Wreck Chords president Fat Mike, is expanding in its third year, with more cities, more bands, more beer, and more ways for fans to make regrettable decisions.

This summer, PUNK IN DRUBLIC starts in Canada July 6 in Edmonton, followed by July 13 in Vancouver, with NOFX, Bad Religion, Less Than Jake,  Anti-Flag, the Real McKenzies, Chixdiggit!, and the Last Gang.

PUNK IN DRUBLIC begins in Portland on July 12, with more dates to be announced. The bill features NOFX, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, MXPX, the Last Gang, and Mean Jeans.

Also new this year: the addition of Warped Tour impresario Kevin Lyman to help run some of the dates with Fat Mike and Punk In Drublic co-owner Cameron Collins of Brew Ha Ha Productions.

“Fat Mike called and said it would be fun to do something together again,” Lyman says. “I said, ‘You know, I miss all my old punk rock friends, so why not?”

“I've known the dude for 25 years,” Fat Mike adds. “Our families vacationed together! Kevin has the same vision that Cameron Collins and I do: Let’s have a big party for adults! Let's make a show that we would all want to go to, not a show that 14-year-olds wanna go to.”

The festival definitely caters to the 21+ crowd, with entry including a commemorative cup and 10 tasting tickets to sample beer from a long list of local and regional craft brewers. Another grown-up attraction is the Wheel of Misfortune, where attendees pay to spin a wheel of punishment doled out by dominantrixes.

“We’ve been producing the most respected and celebrated craft-beer festivals in the nation for the past decade, but Punk In Drublic is something different,” says Brew Ha Ha’s Collins. “It’s an opportunity for a bunch of grown-up punk rockers and beer fanatics to come together in an incredible celebration of music, beer, and camaraderie!”

People looking for something extra can opt for one of two special packages: VIP, which includes five extra drink tickets, access to a VIP Lounge, upgraded restrooms, badminton against band members, access to the Band Bar, and bondage massage with Athena Fatale; and ULTRA VIP, which includes all of that plus special beer selections, a VIP viewing area of the stage, and badminton with NOFX.

Speaking of NOFX, the punk legends will celebrate a special 20th anniversary on this year’s tour.

“I don't get excited about a lot of things,” Fat Mike says. “Now I'm excited about a new thing: NOFX will be playing ‘The Decline’ live with Baz and His Orchestra. We just started practicing, and damn, I'm actually excited to play this live.”

PUNK IN DRUBLIC kicked off 2019 with a run of successful European dates, which took the tour to 11 cities in Germany, France, Spain, Austria, and the UK. “PID in Europe is so rad ’cause craft beer is a new thing out there,” Fat Mike says.

Out here, it’s a whole culture, one PUNK IN DRUBLIC is ready to celebrate fully, and sloppily. It’s a dream come true for the festival’s punk rock Dionysus.

“I finally have a stage that I feel completely comfortable on,” says Mike. “I am truly playing for my peers—punk rock alcoholics who left their kids at home with the in-laws!”
